The last 440i coupe we tested went from zero to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds, quicker than any rival. A sports car's interior must cater to the driver, and a luxury car's must be comfortable. The 4-Series accomplishes both, with an excellent driving position and spacious passenger accommodations. The M Sport package adds a unique leather-wrapped steering wheel that looks and feels amazing. The way the 4 Series takes care of its passengers makes it an excellent choice for covering long distances. BMW set up the 4 Series with driving comfort in mind. We like the wide range of seating adjustments and thoughtful ergonomics. The iDrive media controller, for example, helps declutter the interior of needless buttons. The turbo-6 launches up to 60 mph in less than five seconds, which was the provenance of M-branded cars from not-too-long ago. The 4 Series is also an excellent long-distance traveler, along with comfy seats, its standard suspension system makes for composed, smooth rides. Most road imperfections and everyday undulations are handled with poise. Inside the cabin, there are decently wide door side pockets with integrated bottle slots, a moderately sized center armrest console, a typically sized passenger-side glove box, two cupholders in the rear, along with a small storage tray. BMW's latest iDrive infotainment software is one of the better systems available, offering crisp images, a user-friendly interface, and smooth responses.
