favorite1957 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight for sale in MN

1957 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight J-2 Convertible

$129,995

Rogers | Date: Tue Feb 27 2024

This 1957 Oldsmobile Super 88 J-2 Convertible is an absolutely gorgeous convertible with fantastic options and is a former 3-time concours participant. 1957 marked the final year of Oldsmobile's "Futuramic" styling, bookending an era that began in 1948. At the nose, the large oval recessed chrome grille was reminiscent of previous years' style, almost a combination of the grilles from 1955 and 1956. Down the sides, a piece of chrome trim runs from the front quarter through most of the front door and a new painted accent stripe, straddled by chrome strips, runs from the vent window down and out through the rear quarter. Changes to the '57 rear end included a new, larger taillight design that capped off a truly elegant automobile. In 1957, Oldsmobile was the fifth-largest American automaker and the GM marque offered three distinct series, the entry-level "Golden Rocket" 88, the sporty Super 88, and the premium "Starfire" 98. The Super 88 shared the same body shell and 122" wheelbase as the entry-level 88, but came more highly-appointed and with more standard features including special trim and interior lights, among other items. The other big addition to Oldsmobile's 1957 lineup was the introduction of the "J-2" induction system option comprised of a trifecta of dual-barrel carburetors that pushed the horsepower output from 277 to 300. This particular '57 Super 88 J-2 comes to us from a longtime owner who oversaw the car's extensive professional restoration and showed the car extensively, including in 3 separate east coast Concours D'Elegance events. Powering this 1957 Oldsmobile is a 371 Cubic Inch V8 engine paired with a "J-2 Rocket" induction tri-power system comprised of three dual-barrel carburetors and that was said to have created 300 horsepower when new. The J-2 371 V8 is backed by a "Jetaway" Hydra-Matic Automatic transmission that makes this Super 88 an easy car for anybody to drive. Exhaust exits the 371 V8 powerplant via a dual exhaust setup that produces a nice throaty sound out of the rear of this 50s cruiser. This 1957 Olds is loaded with options! Power steering and dual outside mirrors make maneuvering this Super 88 Convertible in and out of tight spaces at the local car show or drive-in is a total breeze and greatly improves the overall driving experience. Outfitted with "Pedal-Ease" Power Brakes, bringing this 1957 Oldsmobile to a full stop requires much less effort and is another one of those highly desirable options on vintage cars. Dual outside spotlights, fender skirts, and rear-mounted Continental Kit are all period-type options that add to the fifties allure of this Super 88. The white vinyl power convertible top is in great shape and it goes up and down with the simple flick of a switch. The previous owners of this '57 Olds also added several upgrades for improved drivability and performance. The original generator was replaced by an alternator to improve battery charging and overall electrical output. Previous ownership also added Vintage Air Conditioning so that you can stay cool while cruising even on the hottest summer days. The exterior of this 1957 J-2 Super 88 has been refinished in Festival Red with an Alcan White accent that just makes the exterior of this Olds pop. The chrome and brightwork around the exterior of this Super 88 is in fantastic shape and completes the exterior look of the car. The interior on this Super 88 Convertible is absolutely gorgeous! The front power seat and rear bench have been reupholstered in beautiful Red and Ivory leather. The color-matched door panels, chrome power window controls, red carpeting, padded dash, and steering wheel are all in wonderful condition as well and all appear to be in their stock configuration. The instrument cluster is equipped with a 120 MPH speedometer and fuel gauge, along with indicator lights for engine temperature, oil pressure, and battery charging. Integrated into the dash is a Wonderbar Super Deluxe AM radio sitting below the controls for the power antenna and power convertible top, and a clock. A Sunpro volt gauge and controls and vents for the Air Conditioning system are mounted neatly under the dash. Whether you're buying your first classic 50s car or you're adding to your existing collection this 1957 Oldsmobile Super 88 J-2 Convertible would make an excellent choice. favorite1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass for sale in NC

1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442

$44,995

Concord | Date: Tue Feb 27 2024

This 1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 coupe is a well-coordinated total package with its big 400 V8 and terrific classic details. And nice features like the muscle car level suspension give you the right feeling for a proper car driver. It makes for a cool and distinct way to own a hardtop legend. The factory-correct Cameo Ivory paint is a great way to represent the 1960s. It has a timeless creamy white style with a touch of earthiness that would become more popular as we approached the 1970s. This was even resprayed later in life, and today it makes for a finish that strikes the right balance of a vintage feeling while continuing to have a good shine. And the black vinyl top provides a timelessly appealing contrast for a premium appearance. Form-hugging bumpers, full-length trim, and the look of flying buttresses in the rear are all part of a carefully styled classic. The correct 442 badging, vented hood, bright dual exhaust tips, and Olds Super Stock wheels with raised white letter tires give a terrific sporty style. And as you look at the full package, you can see this is a classic made-to-be-driven. So it's quite clean and complete, but it keeps away from getting too fancy to make you nervous about taking it out every Sunday to explore new back roads. The black roof is a preview of the full black interior. The door panels, carpeting, and other fundamentals look good. The seats even look more recently reupholstered. But this classic was made to be enjoyed, so you'll never hesitate to let family and friends hop in and go for an ice cream run. You'll enjoy the vintage details everywhere, from the Cutlass badging in the doors to the working AM/FM radio. This is even a factory air-conditioning car. The blower works well, but you likely want to update or upgrade the system to return to its full function. And you'll like best how this is a great driver's setup. You have a fold-down armrest for true individual comfort, the three-spoke steering wheel, clear factory gauges, and a classic Stewart Warner temp readout under the dash. Under the hood is exactly what you want to see. The 400 cubic-inch V8 is an era-correct powerhouse that looks exceptionally stock with bronze painted motor and 442 air cleaner. While the VIN cannot do 442 verification for this year, this shows all the right signs of being a true 442, right down to C heads. And features like the four-barrel carburetor and dual exhaust make this breather like a proper muscle car powerhouse. We like the hardy nature of these Oldsmobile motors, and this one will likely need some shadetree tuning to get it to be your ideal machine. And many of us plan on that anyway because we want to unlock even more power from the V8. And one of the reasons a good Olds makes for a great power car is because of the extra features. This one has boxed rear arms, a rear sway bar, and a limited-slip rear end. Add in the TH400 three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and power brakes, and this hardtop wants to be a nice all-around cruiser. This Oldsmobile loves to be vintage, premium, and a proper muscle car. So you know you need to take it home with you. Call now!

favorite1955 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight for sale in MN

1955 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight Convertible

$89,995

Rogers | Date: Tue Feb 27 2024

This 1955 Oldsmobile Super 88 Convertible is a beautifully restored, stock example of Oldsmobile's sporty convertible. When Oldsmobile introduced its Super 88 to consumers in January of 1951, it was intended to be a mid-level model for the GM marque sitting between the entry-level 88 and the top-of-the-line 98 models. From its 1951 debut through the mid-50s, the Super 88 was a massive sales success for Oldsmobile and some even called it Oldsmobile's "bread and butter" model. In 1955, Oldsmobile offered 2 models with convertibles, the Super 88 and the 98. The biggest change for the Super 88 in '55 was the fact that Olds slipped its more powerful 202 horsepower engine from its 98 model into an 88 body to create the 1955 Super 88. With their shorter wheelbase and upgraded engine the Super 88 became the sportiest Oldsmobile model in 1955 yet the convertibles are rarest '55 Olds models with only 9,007 produced. Nonetheless, 1955 was a banner year for Oldsmobile with the General Motors brand producing over a half million vehicles. This particular Super Eighty-Eight Convertible comes to us long-term owner who cared for the car for over 20 years and who purchased it out of California. Under the hood on this Super 88 is a 324 Cubic Inch "Rocket" V8 engine paired with a single 4 barrel carburetor that pushed out 202 horsepower back in its day. The 324 Rocket V8 is mated to a smooth-shifting Hydra-Matic Automatic Transmission that allows anybody to take this '55 Olds for a spin around the block. This Oldsmobile Super 88 has some truly great options! Power steering, which was a $120 option back in 1955, improves the overall driving experience in this Olds and makes getting in and out of tight spaces at the local drive-in or car show an absolute breeze. With "Pedal-Ease" power brakes, bringing this nearly 3,800 pound convertible to a full stop much easier as well. The white vinyl power convertible top is operated via an under dash switch and makes putting up and down the convertible a simple endeavor. This '55 Olds rides on a set of wide whitewall radial tires paired with full wheelcovers giving this car a classic look and an even better ride. The exterior on this Super 88 Convertible has been correctly refinished in a beautiful two-tone paint scheme consisting of Burlingame Red and Polar White, a truly eye-catching combination. Superb exterior chrome and brightwork complete the exterior appearance of this convertible. The interior on this 1955 Oldsmobile is magnificent! The front and rear bench seats have been reupholstered in beautiful Red and Ivory Vinyl. The dash, door panels, carpeting and steering wheel are all in fantastic shape as well and appear to be in their stock configuration. The dash is equipped with full instrumentation including a 120 MPH speedometer, amp gauge, temperature gauge, oil pressure gauge, and fuel gauge, along with an AM radio and clock. Whether you're buying your first classic car or you want to re-live your youth, this 1955 Oldsmobile Super 88 Convertible would make an excellent choice. Give us a call today!

favorite1956 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight for sale in MN

1956 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight Convertible

$89,995

Rogers | Date: Tue Feb 27 2024

This 1956 Oldsmobile Super 88 Convertible is a stunningly restored example with great options and Rocket V8 power. On November 3, 1955, Oldsmobile introduced its 1956 lineup to its dealership network, which was coming off an impressive record-setting year for the GM marque. While sales slipped a bit in 1956, Oldsmobile was able to retain its position as the 5th best selling American automaker. The 1956 Oldsmobiles featured several stylistic revisions both inside and out. On the exterior, the '56 Oldsmobiles featured new chrome grilles that were deeply concave in design and the rear quarters were updated as well with a "swept flank" look that gave the cars a bit more 50s flair. The dashboards in 1956 were also updated from the previous year's layout and now had a more futuristic look. The Super 88 was Oldsmobile's intermediate model sitting above the entry-level 88 and the premium 98 models. For Oldsmobile in 1956, the only two models with a convertible body style were the Super 88 and the 98. However, when comparing the Super 88 to the 98, the Super 88 was considered to be a sportier car since the 98 had a longer wheelbase and was therefore more targeted at boulevard cruising. In total, Oldsmobile produced 9,561 Super 88 Convertibles making it one of the rarest Olds from 1956. Under the hood of the '56 Super 88 is a 324.3 Rocket V8 engine paired with a single 4 barrel carburetor that pushed out 240 horsepower when new. Exhaust exits this Super 88 via a dual exhaust setup that gives this convertible a nice throaty sound. A Hydra-Matic Automatic tranmission is mated to the 324 Rocket V8 ensuring that anybody can take this 50s cruiser for a spin around the block. This Super 88 is loaded with options! Power brakes makes bringing this '56 Olds to a stop much easier and improves the overall driving experience. With power steering, maneuvering this 1956 Super 88 in and out of tight spaces at car shows or the local drive in is a breeze. The white vinyl power convertible top is in fantastic condition and goes up and down effortlessly with the simple pull or push of a knob mounted neatly under the dash. When down, the power convertible top sits below a white vinyl boot that matches the exterior appearance of this fine automobile. Riding on a set of wide whitewall bias-ply tires on painted rims with full wheelcovers, this 1956 Super 88 has a classy 50s look. The chrome and brightwork on this 1956 Oldsmobile is in fantastic show-worthy condition, both inside and out. Finished in a beautiful two-tone paint scheme consisting of Festival Red and Alcan White, this '56 Olds is a true standout. The interior on this Oldsmobile Super 88 is absolutely stunning! The front and rear bench seats have been reupholstered in Red vinyl and looks as if almost no one has ever sat in this car. The dash, door panels, and steering wheel are all in wonderful condition and appear to be in their stock configuration. The dash is equipped with a 120 MPH speedometer, gas gauge, AM radio, and clock, as well as indicator lights for the generator, oil pressure, and temperature. Whether you're adding to your existing classic car collection or you're purchasing your very first classic, this 1956 Oldsmobile Super 88 Convertible would make a truly excellent choice. 1956 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight Holiday Hardtop

$49,995

Rogers | Date: Tue Feb 27 2024

This 1956 Oldsmobile Super 88 Holiday Hardtop has a great 50s color scheme and is in fantastic shape! Introduced in the fall of 1955, the 1956 Oldsmobile models were offered as three distinct series, the 88, the Super 88, and the 98. Therefore, the Super 88 was an intermediate model for the GM marque in 1956, sitting above the entry-level Eighty-Eight in terms of trim and options, but was not quite as fancy as the longer wheelbase Ninety-Eight. The 1956 Super 88 was also considered sportier than the lower horsepower 88 and more "boulevard cruising" oriented 98 models. In 1956, the front ends underwent moderate revisions with the introduction of the new split-style deeply concave chrome grilles which seem to have taken styling inspiration from the growing aviation industry with these new grilles have a jet-style air intake look. The rear quarters on the 1956 Oldsmobile passenger cars were updated with a "swept flank" look which further added to the 50s flair that was becoming more popular in seemingly all of the American-made cars at the time. The Super 88 models also featured additional exterior trim that elevated the exterior look of the cars. The interiors on the 1956 Super 88s were also a step above and featured front and rear carpeting (compared to the 88's rubber floor mats) along with the addition of interior courtesy lights among other items. This particular Super 88 comes to us from a southern-based collector who clearly enjoyed and cherished the car. Under the hood on this Super 88 is a 324.2 Cubic Inch "Rocket" V8 engine paired with a single 4 barrel carburetor that pushed out 240 horsepower back in 1956. The 324 Rocket V8 is backed by a Hydra-Matic Automatic Transmission that makes this Olds a classic car that just about anybody can drive. Exhaust exits the Rocket 324 V8 via a dual exhaust setup that gives the car a nice throaty sound. Being that Oldsmobiles were deluxe GM models back in 1956, they came loaded with many desirable options! With power brakes, bringing this '56 Super 88 Holiday Hardtop to a complete stop is made much easier especially with all that horsepower generated by that Rocket Olds powerplant. Getting in and out of tight spaces at the local drive-in or car show is also a breeze in this 1956 Oldsmobile since it comes equipped with power steering. Riding on a set of wide whitewall bias-ply tires, each paired with a set of full wheel covers, this classic Oldsmobile has a truly classic 50s look. Speaking of the classic fifties look, the two-tone Lime and Black paint scheme just screams 50s! Furthermore, the color-matched interior on this Oldsmobile Super 88 is gorgeous! The front and rear bench seats have been reupholstered in Black Leather with Lime Green vinyl inserts and they have a wonderful look. The green and black matching door panels, black padded dash with chrome and green accents, and steering wheel all appear to be in their stock configuration and appear to be in fantastic shape. The dash is equipped with a 120 MPH speedometer, fuel gauge, push-button AM radio, and clock, as well as indicator lights for engine temperature, oil pressure and the generator.
