Description
Well, life hits you hard sometimes and you find yourself in a place you didn't want to be in. I, for instance, suffered a recent freak accident that had left my left leg paralyzed from the knee down and with limited use of my right fingers. So, after 3 months in the hospital learning to walk again and to use my right hand as much as possible, I was discharged still in ownership of my baby - my 2004 Honda CRV EX 4WD. Normally I'd try to power through and get to the point that I can use my right foot again to drive, but ALL of the doctors tell me with the nerve damage in my leg, that will never happen. So I'm finally choosing to part with her She's gotten me across this fair country of ours countless times. The MOST dependable car I have ever seen. She's got a brand new battery with a 3 year warranty from AAA She's got a brand new AC system put in last year, so she will blow cold come the summer months. Her brakes are in good condition and were recently replaced on a trip down to Georgia, so they shouldn't need repairing or replacing for a while. She's got the EX trim and 4 Wheel Drive, which makes her mighty handy when driving through mountain roads and up steep hills. She's got 166700 miles on her, and can go another 1667000 at least. I've got her title, it's clean and ready for a new owner. She has massive trunk space, and a removeable trunk bottom for storing another spare tire or anything you like. The floor that covers that open area comes out and becomes a portable table for camping, tailgating, or whatever you like. She has two keys, with one working key fob. She has a working radio with a tape deck that you can easily buy a convertor on Amazon for to plug your phone in. She's an automatic, with cruise control, overdrive, multiple gear shifts. All of her headlights and tailights work (aside from one I'll mention later) All of her windows are automatic and work (aside from one I'll mention later) and she's got a working automatic sun roof which can open a peak or all the way. Her tires are all in good condition, including the spare. She is road ready. I drove to and from Cullowhee, NC this spring for a family vacation with her in this exact condition (minus the brand new battery) Now, I'm selling her for what I think she's worth. She'll need some work on her in the long run, but most of her issues are aesthetic in nature and with a good mechanic, the issues I'm about to list are fixable in the ~$500 range. She needs a replacement part for the hook holding the hood down. Should be easily found at Autozone and should be cheap. This happened on my last trip with her before my accident and time in the hospital, so we just finished out the drive back from North Carolina with the hood down and a simple bungie across it and had no trouble whatsoever. The passenger side window won't work, likely a wiring problem with the door that a mechanic could fix easily. As you can see in the pictures, the rear right top light is broken, and I covered it with tape to keep any water from coming in. The rest of the lights are completely functional, and the repair is either a more elegant cover for the water or a simple replacement of the taillight fixture. There's expected wear and tear in the interior of the car, minor scratches and marks. The car had her catalytic convertor stolen. My mechanic buddy and I were able to fix this with a flex tube that runs the exhaust back to the tailpipe. It's a sturdy fix up and it apparently actually increases the car's MPG. If you'd like to go all the way and replace the catalytic convertor, that would likely be the most expensive repair the car would need. But, as my mechanic assured me, a used one shouldn't be difficult to find for a mechanic who knows a good junk yard. She could use some new windshield wipers. The car's not the prettiest lady at the dance, but she will get you from A to B, every time. May be a good starter car for a teenager. I've had her for a decade, she saw me through being a boy and becoming a man, and I'd like to think she could do the same for someone else. Feel free to text me if you're interested and we can hop on a call (I'm likely to ignore a random number if it calls me out of the blue) You're free to come take her on a test drive here in Bushwick down to Bedstuy, just probably not on the interstate because I don't have insurance on her. Looking forward to passing her off.
